Gateway to the North
I visited the beaches of Vik on a bitterly cold tuesday morning, despite the conditions I have never visited such a tranquil and calm place.. almost entirely uninhabited save the footprints of recent visitors in the damp sand. This modern interpretation of a Viking longboat sits in the docklands of Rekyavik facing the western Fjords, a casual mix of both Icelandic minimalism and traditional Norse mythology the sculpture sums up so much about the local culture. It looks to me like its poised to embark on a voyage further north, into the infinite..

Mountains and Beaches
I have returned alive from the frozen north.. Iceland is a fascinating country, barren and unforgiving but also rich and diverse in its landscape, there are frozen lakes (in April at least) and boiling mud pools often a walking distance from each other.. very strange. I took over a thousand 20meg RAW files on this trip so processing the content is taking a while, I will be posting new images as frequently as I can in these next few weeks on a " as soon as its done" basis.
