Mountains and Beaches

I have returned alive from the frozen north.. Iceland is a fascinating country, barren and unforgiving but also rich and diverse in its landscape, there are frozen lakes (in April at least) and boiling mud pools often a walking distance from each other.. very strange. I took over a thousand 20meg RAW files on this trip so processing the content is taking a while, I will be posting new images as frequently as I can in these next few weeks on a " as soon as its done" basis.

  1. 1000's of 20MB RAW files means you are going to need one beast of a mac to get through that lot. Hope you have plenty of drive space too.

  2. I'm processing this project on a new 15" Macbook Pro with 2Gb of RAM right now but will have 4Gb next week. Currently running okay with Aperture for the asset management and RAW processing but I tend to have some slowdown with the Photomerge in Photoshop.
